A best of three ends as soon as one side has two, so it can finish in two tosses rather than always running to three.

The call comes first, which is the whole ritual
A coin flip answers a question. A called toss settles an argument, because one side commits out loud before anything moves and the other side gets whatever is left. That order is enforced here: the coin will not flip until a side has been called, and the call cannot be changed once it is in.
If you only want a result and nobody is calling anything, the coin flip is the shorter version of this page and the one to use.
If more than two things are in the running, a coin is the wrong shape of answer and the wheel or the hat handles any number of names. A toss is for exactly two, called out loud, in front of everybody.

Questions
- Is the coin the same one as on the coin flip page?
- Yes, the same code and the same draw. Each side is chosen with the browser's cryptographic random number generator before the coin animates, and the animation is a replay of a result that was already decided. Nothing about the call changes the odds.
- Can teams call rather than people?
- The two sides are just names, so a team name works exactly as well as a captain's name. Leave them blank and the page calls them side one and side two.
- Does it keep the score across rounds?
- Yes, for the length of the match you chose. A best of three ends as soon as one side reaches two, which is the point of a best of three, and the score is on screen the whole way.
