Terms of Use

Last updated 6 September 2026

These terms keep things clear and fair. By using PaperCarnival, you agree to them.

1. What PaperCarnival is

PaperCarnival provides free, browser-based tools for making printable activities: bingo cards, 90 ball tickets, seating charts, charades cards, scavenger hunt sheets and word searches, along with ready-made sets, guides and articles. There is no account, no sign-up, no paid tier, and no limit on how much you make.

2. Everything runs in your browser

The tools run locally. The names, word lists and activity content you enter are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to PaperCarnival's servers, which means we do not see, review, moderate, store or back up what you create. The practical consequences are worth stating: your work is not recoverable by us if you lose it, and keeping a copy is up to you. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.

3. Use the tools freely

You may print, share and use what you make for personal, classroom, family, community and commercial events, at no cost. You do not need our permission and you do not owe us credit.

What you may not do:

  • Use the site to create or distribute content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload the site, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
  • Republish PaperCarnival's own material, our page text, articles, themes, illustrations and ready-made sets, as a competing library or product. Printing and using them is exactly what they are for; repackaging them as your own catalogue is not.

4. Your content, and who is responsible for it

You retain whatever rights you already have in the original content you provide, subject to any rights held by third parties. PaperCarnival claims no ownership of the content you create with the tools, and because it never reaches us, we could not make a claim to it even if we wanted to.

You are responsible for what you enter and for how you use the result. That includes having whatever permission you need for names, images, logos, characters, lyrics, brands or other protected material you choose to put on a sheet, and for handling other people's personal information, a class list, a guest list, appropriately under any rules that apply to you, such as your school's or employer's. We do not review or control content created locally by users.

Nothing here stops you typing an ordinary word that happens also to be somebody's trademark. The point is simply that the judgement, and the responsibility, is yours rather than ours.

Some of our own tools take their name from a well-known game format: Pictionary, Boggle, Scrum, Planning Poker, Wheel of Names, Globle and Worldle are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the kind of game each tool produces. PaperCarnival is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of them.

5. Our content

The PaperCarnival name and logo, the site design, the written guides and articles, the card themes and illustrations, and the ready-made activity sets are ours or used with permission. You may print and use them through the tools as described above; that permission does not transfer ownership.

6. Availability and changes

We intend to keep every tool free; we do not promise that any particular tool will stay available. We may add, change, or remove tools, themes and content, and the site may be unavailable at times, planned or otherwise. We do not guarantee that any particular tool, theme or page will remain available, and we may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change when we do.

7. Third-party services

The site is hosted by a third-party provider, and pages other than the generators may display advertising supplied by Google. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.

8. No warranty

The tools are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We work hard to keep the tools accurate and available, but we can't guarantee they'll be error-free or uninterrupted. Always preview your print output before an event.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaperCarnival and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its output, including lost work, a print run that did not come out as expected, or an event that did not go to plan. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing here limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, any consumer protection that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded still applies.
