One screen runs the whole game

A drawing game needs three things: a word the drawer knows and the guessers do not, a clock, and somewhere to keep score. This page does all three, so one phone in the drawer's hand runs the entire game. Press New word, peek at it in secret, start the round, and score the guess when it lands. The guessers see only the shape of the word, how many words and how many letters, which is the same hint the paper game always gave.

Words worth drawing

The bank holds hundreds of words across animals, food, everyday objects, actions, places, things around the house, holidays and a Just for kids set. Easy words are single drawable things; medium adds trickier objects and activities; hard is where "threading a needle" and "staring contest" live. Every word is generic and safe for a classroom: no brands, no film characters, nothing a parent would need to explain. Nothing repeats until the whole set has been drawn.

Bowl mode, for when the bowl is the game

Plenty of house games are played out of a bowl rather than out of a generator: everybody writes prompts on slips, the slips go in, and the round runs until the bowl is empty. The Bowl tab does that here. It fills a bowl from the category you chose, or from prompts you type one per line, shuffles it once, and empties it a slip at a time with the count on screen so the table can see the end coming.

The difference from the ordinary draw is what happens at the bottom. The word bank quietly starts again when it runs dry, which is what you want from a generator. A bowl stops, says every slip has been drawn, and waits for somebody to press Refill, because a bowl that refills itself is not a bowl. Prompts you type stay in this browser and never travel in a link.

Playing over a video call

The drawer opens this page on their own device, peeks at the word, and draws on paper held up to the camera, or on our whiteboard with their screen shared. Everyone else just watches and shouts. Because the word never leaves the drawer's screen, there is nothing to accidentally spoil in the chat.
