Privacy Policy

The short version: PaperCarnival has no accounts and no server that stores what you make. The words, lists, and names you type into our tools stay on your own device. This page explains that in full.

Your content stays on your device

Our tools run entirely in your browser. When you type a word list, a roster, or the names of your guests, that information is never sent to us. It lives only in your browser's local storage on your device, and anything shared through a link is encoded in the part of the URL after the # — which browsers do not transmit to any server. We cannot see it, and we do not store it.

Information we collect

We use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages and features are popular so we can improve them. This records anonymous, aggregate information such as pages visited, the general region a visit comes from, the type of device, and anonymous events like "a PDF was downloaded." It never includes the content you type into a tool. We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information, because we don't ask for them.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, mainly for analytics. You can read the details on the Cookie Policy page, including how to control them. We never place trackers inside the tools themselves.

Advertising

Some pages may display advertising to keep the tools free. Ad partners (such as Google) may use cookies to show relevant ads. Ads never appear on printed output, and never inside a tool's working area. You can learn about and opt out of personalized advertising at the Digital Advertising Alliance and through Google's Ads Settings.

Your privacy rights (U.S.)

Because we don't collect personal information tied to you, there is very little for us to hold. Even so, U.S. residents — including California residents under the CCPA/CPRA — have the right to know what personal information a business collects, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and there is no account data to export or delete. If you have a question about your rights, reach us through the contact page.

Children's privacy

Our tools are designed for teachers and party hosts, not for direct use by children. In line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the tools keep everything on the device and ask for no personal details, no such information is collected.

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change when we do.
