Charades is the game that gets a Halloween party out of its chairs. This deck holds twenty four prompts built for the season: a cat arching its back, a mummy losing a bandage, someone bobbing for apples and coming up soaked. Every one of them is a thing to do rather than a thing to say, so the room is watching a performance within seconds of the card being drawn.
Six cards fit on a page, the midnight theme frames each one in deep blue and gold, and a pair of scissors turns four pages into a full deck.
The prompts stay on the friendly side of spooky, which matters when the room holds both a six year old and their grandparents. If your crowd wants something sharper, or you would rather run a costume round using the outfits people actually turned up in, open the deck in the generator and rewrite as many cards as you like.

Ways to play
Classic teams
Split into two teams. One player draws a card and acts it out with no talking and no pointing at objects while their team guesses against a one-minute timer.
Costume round
Play it in costume. Actors have to work around a mask or a cape, which makes even the easy prompts funny.
Younger-players mode
Let children pick two cards and act out whichever they prefer, and allow animal sounds. Every prompt here is act-out-able without reading skills once an adult reads it aloud.
Whole-room guessing
Skip the teams. One person acts, everybody guesses, and whoever gets it right acts next. Good for a party where people drift in and out.

Are the prompts suitable for children?
Yes. They are spooky rather than frightening, and nothing needs reading skills to act out once an adult reads the card.
Can I add my own prompts?
Yes. Open the deck in the generator and add, remove, or rewrite any card.
What is the best paper to print on?
Ordinary paper works. Card stock holds up better if you want to reuse the deck next year, and the midnight theme looks best in color.
Can we play this with adults only?
Yes, and it plays fast. Add a one-minute timer and a no-sound rule and the werewolf and vampire prompts get competitive quickly.
