Spring vocabulary is the easiest kind to teach, because most of it is happening outside the window. This word search hides thirty two of those words, and about half of them form a life cycle in progress: a seedling becoming a sprout, a tadpole on its way to something else, a caterpillar heading for the same transformation, a robin nesting and then hatching.
The puzzle prints on page one, the answer key on page two, and the word list sits under the grid.
It works as a five minute warm-up before a life-cycle lesson, or as the thing you hand out when a spring shower cuts outdoor time short. For younger children, drop the difficulty in the generator to across and down only. For older ones, allow backwards words and watch the time double.

Ways to use it
Life-cycle warm-up
Half the list is a life cycle in progress: seedling, sprout, tadpole, hatching, caterpillar. Use it as the opening five minutes of the lesson.
Take it outside
Hand it out on the first warm day and let them work on the grass. Several of the words are findable in the schoolyard too.
Rainy-window afternoon
Spring weather cuts outdoor time short more than any other season. Keep a stack for the afternoons it does.
Easier or harder
Across and down only for the younger end, backwards words allowed for the older. Both are one click in the generator.

It works from about seven upward at the default difficulty, and younger with the easy setting, which hides words across and down only.
Can I tie it to a science lesson?
Yes. The list deliberately includes a full life cycle, seedling through sprout and tadpole through hatching, so it doubles as a vocabulary warm-up.
