The Pomodoro Technique, developed by Francesco Cirillo, structures work into focused sessions, traditionally twenty-five minutes long, followed by a short break, with a longer break after every four sessions. The idea is that a fixed, visible countdown makes it easier to commit to one task without checking the time every few minutes, and the short break that follows keeps a long working day from turning into one undifferentiated block.
This page loads pre-set to the standard twenty-five-minute session, full screen and legible from across a desk, with silent mode available if a chime would be disruptive in a shared space. When the session ends, take your break, then come back and press start again for the next one.

How long is a Pomodoro session?
Traditionally twenty-five minutes of focused work, followed by a short break of around five minutes, with a longer break after every fourth session. This timer covers the work session itself; it does not automatically chain sessions and breaks together.
Does it keep correct time in a background tab?
Yes. The countdown is worked out from the clock rather than counted tick by tick, so a tab you switched away from comes back showing the correct time even if the browser paused it while it was hidden.
