Free Printable Christmas Tree Word Search
A grid cut into the shape of a tree, for the last week of term when nothing sticks.
Made by the PaperCarnival team · Updated
24 hidden words · answer key included · US Letter & A4
By the last week of term nothing sticks. The tree is up, the timetable has quietly collapsed, and every activity has to survive a room that is already thinking about the holidays. A word search shaped like a tree buys ten quiet minutes, and unlike most things handed out that week it is worth keeping.
The grid really is a tree: three tiers over a trunk, letters stopping at the edge, words hiding inside the branches. Twenty four of them, all decorations, weather, and food, so it sits comfortably in any classroom.
Pin the finished ones in a row and you have a display without cutting anything out.

Ways to use it
The last week of term
The week nothing sticks. Hand these out and the room settles for ten minutes without anybody being told to.
Decoration for the wall
Finished trees pinned in a row make a display. The shape does the work, so there is nothing to cut out.
Something to do while waiting
For the stretch between the end of lunch and the start of the party, when the hall is still being set up.
Timed round
Give the table ten minutes and count finds. Words run across, down and diagonally inside the tree, so the narrow top is where the last few hide.
Questions
Why does it hide fewer words than the square version?
The tree narrows towards the top, so the upper rows hold very little. So it hides twenty four, all of them placed, and the square Christmas word search is there if you want a longer list.
Is the list religious?
No. It stays on the decorations, the weather, and the food, so it works in any classroom.
