Not every winter activity should be a December one. Plenty of classrooms need a cold-weather page in late January, when the holidays are long gone and the playground is still frozen shut. This puzzle hides thirty two words that belong to the season rather than to any celebration: a blizzard and a snowdrift, the kettle and the woodsmoke, the earmuffs and the shovel and the hibernating animals waiting it out.
Because the list steers clear of any single holiday, it works for a mixed class, a waiting room, or a snowed-in afternoon at home. If you want it easier for younger children, open it in the generator and drop the difficulty to across and down only. If you want it harder, allow backwards words.

No, deliberately. Every word is about the season itself, so it suits any classroom or home during the cold months.
Is it too hard for younger children?
The default hides words across, down, and diagonally. In the generator you can switch to across and down only, which makes it much gentler.
