How many dice

How the roll is decided

The moment you tap, your browser draws each die's number with its cryptographic random number generator, and the dice are then told where to land. Every face has exactly a one in six chance on every roll, the tumble is just for the feel of it, and nothing about the last roll changes the next one. That makes these dice fairer than most physical ones, which pick up tiny biases from their pips and edges.

A die for the games box

Every games cupboard has a box with the dice missing. Put this page on a phone in the middle of the table and the game carries on: one die for move-and-count games, two for anything that wants a total from two to twelve. Teachers use two dice for quick mental maths, times tables and probability lessons, where a die that is provably fair is exactly the point.

Nothing to install, nothing tracked

The dice run entirely in your browser. There is no account, nothing is uploaded, and no roll is recorded anywhere. Full screen mode makes the faces readable from the back of a classroom.

More for the table

For a yes or no, flip a coin. For picking a person or a prize from any list, spin the wheel. The countdown timer and stopwatch run the rounds, and the printable games, from bingo to word searches, are all free on the tools page.
