Free Family Gathering Seating Chart Maker
Seat the family, keep the two who bicker at opposite ends, and print it before anybody arrives.
16 sample names · names never leave your device · US Letter & A4
Every family has a pair of people who should not be seated together, and every family knows exactly who they are. The trouble is deciding it in the doorway, out loud, while everybody stands holding a plate.
Do it in advance instead. Type the names, add a keep-apart rule for the pair, and the chart puts them at opposite ends and keeps them there while you move everybody else around. Nobody has to be told why, because the seating was already printed when they walked in.
The same rule works the other way. Seat the cousins together if you want them entertained, spread them out if you want the room calm, and print place cards so the arrangement is a fact on the table rather than a suggestion.

Ways to use it
Decide before anybody arrives
A chart printed in advance is a decision already made. Deciding in the doorway with everybody watching never goes well.
Keep-apart is the whole feature
Every family has a pair. Two names, one rule, and they are at opposite ends without you having to explain why.
Split the children up, or do not
Keep-together seats the cousins at one table if you want them entertained, keep-apart spreads them out if you want them calm.
Place cards make it final
A name on the table is not up for debate in the way an empty chair is.
Questions
Is this family seating chart maker free?+
Yes, completely free, with no account and no watermark, including the printable place cards.
Do the names get uploaded anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your family's names stay on your own computer.
Can I keep two relatives apart?+
Yes, and it is the reason most people open this. Add a keep-apart rule and the arrangement puts them at different tables, and keeps them there while you move other people around.
What if we have one long table?+
Use the rows or pairs layout for a single long table, or banquet if you have two or more round ones.
Can I print place cards?+
Yes, on Letter or A4 with cut lines, free and without a watermark.
