Is the vote really anonymous?

As anonymous as passing a phone round can be. The device asks for one person at a time, shows the options, takes the tap and moves straight on, so the screen never shows a cast vote to the next pair of hands. Nothing records who chose what: the page only keeps a count per option, and there is no order kept alongside it.

Can somebody vote twice?

Only by taking two turns. The device hands out exactly as many turns as there are voters and then stops, so an extra vote means somebody taking a turn that was not theirs, which is a room problem rather than a software one. If that matters, use names rather than an anonymous count and the screen will ask for each person out loud.

What is kept afterwards?

The question and the winning option, with its share and the number of votes, for the last twenty questions. That is all. The full breakdown, the options that lost and the names are not kept, and nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.

How many people can vote?

Up to thirty, which is more than will happily queue for a phone. For a class, counting hands is faster and the tool for that is the same one you would use anyway: ask, count, and type two numbers. This page is for the votes where people would not put a hand up honestly.

Decisions a show of hands gets wrong

A show of hands is quick and it is right most of the time. Where it goes wrong is any question where people can see what everybody else thinks before they decide. The first three hands set the answer, the quiet half of the room follows them, and whoever asked comes away believing in a consensus that was manufactured in about four seconds.

The one-at-a-time reveal is worth turning on for anything with an audience. Showing every bar at once tells the room the answer; uncovering them one by one makes the room watch, and the last one lands properly. If you want a vote for a person rather than an option, the ballot box does that with the roster as the candidates. For a fast public count instead of a private one, the would you rather counter takes two numbers and draws the same bar.
