When it ties
A runoff starts a fresh vote between exactly the tied names, and nobody else appears on the paper.

Why the box is shuffled
This is the one thing that separates a secret ballot from a show of hands with extra steps. People vote in the order they are listed. If the ballots then came out of the box in the order they went in, the first one opened would be the first person's, the last one the last person's, and anybody paying attention could reconstruct the entire vote from the reveal. So the box is shuffled before a single ballot is opened, and the order they come out in tells nobody anything.
Elimination games want the opposite: one vote, fast, and usually with self-voting allowed because voting for yourself is a legitimate move. That switch is in the Rules tab. If what you want is a vote between options rather than between people, the majority vote is the page for that, and if you are running a hidden-role game in the first place, the secret role cards deal the roles this eventually votes somebody out of.

Questions
- Is it really anonymous?
- The ballots are shuffled before any of them is opened, which is the part that matters. Voters take their turn in the order they are listed, so a box opened in the order it was filled would announce the first voter's choice first and everybody in the room can count. Shuffling breaks that link, and nothing anywhere records who voted for whom.
- What happens on a tie?
- It is named as a tie, and if runoffs are on you are offered a fresh vote between exactly the tied names, with nobody else on the paper. Turn runoffs off and a tie simply stands, which is often the honest answer for an end-of-term award nobody needs resolved.
- Can somebody vote for themselves?
- Not by default. The device leaves your own name off your own ballot, so nobody has to be trusted to remember the rule or watched to see whether they did. There is a switch in the Rules tab if you want it allowed, which is the normal choice for an elimination game.
- Can I run several awards in a row?
- Yes. Type the categories one per line in the Awards tab and the title sits above the ballot so everybody knows what they are voting on. Finish one and Next award clears the box and moves on, keeping the same room and the same rules.
